About Kevin Brown
Kevin Brown, Dell Technologies’ Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Supply Chain Officer, has built a career defined by operational excellence, innovation and leadership across engineering, manufacturing, procurement and global supply chain management.
Since joining Dell almost 30 years ago, he has helped shape one of the world’s most advanced technology supply chain organizations, leading initiatives that strengthen Dell’s global operations, accelerate digital transformation and improve the customer experience.
Today, Kevin is recognized throughout the technology industry for driving innovation and partnerships that increase efficiencies, savings and effectiveness. Across his work in global operations, board service, education and civic engagement, Kevin focuses on building systems and institutions that are more resilient, more responsive and better prepared for the future.
Early Career and Education
Before joining Dell Technologies, Kevin spent 10 years working for Newport News Shipbuilding. He held leadership roles in reactor plant engineering, construction management and facilities. His official titles included Engineering Manager, Construction Superintendent and Director of Facilities.
Kevin has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He also earned an M.S. in engineering management from the George Washington University.
Dell Technologies
Kevin joined Dell Technologies in 1998 as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. He was quickly promoted and held multiple Senior Vice President positions before becoming Chief Procurement Officer in 2008. In 2013, he was promoted to his current position of Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Supply Chain Officer, where he leads a worldwide supply chain across 180 countries and 25 manufacturing sites. He is responsible for overseeing approximately 7,700 team members across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, planning and fulfillment. He manages a procurement budget exceeding $100 billion.
Kevin’s leadership is rooted in operational excellence and disciplined execution. Throughout his nearly three decades with Dell, Kevin has helped expand the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the U.S. and Asia. He played a key role during the Dell-EMC merger, leading the integration of EMC’s operations, which helped deliver approximately $1 billion in savings. His work also includes advancing sustainability initiatives, such as Dell’s closed-loop plastics program. He has spearheaded Dell’s NextWave Plastics initiative, which is focused on recycling plastics before they reach the ocean.
Leading Innovation in Global Supply Chains
Kevin’s leadership has helped Dell navigate periods of rapid technological change, global supply chain disruptions and evolving customer needs while continuing to maximize productivity. He has championed digital transformation, automation, advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making to modernize supply chain operations. He centers his work around building supply chains that are flexible enough to respond to changing market conditions and unexpected disruptions.
Today, Kevin is helping lead the next generation of AI-powered supply chain innovation. He focuses on integrating AI into supply chains, enabling organizations to improve forecasting, optimize procurement and make faster, more informed decisions.
His thought leadership emphasizes that the future of supply chain management depends on combining advanced technology with strong partnerships, operational discipline and customer-focused execution.
